Dr. Solinas, owner/director of Plazita Medical Clinic, has been on the teaching faculty for both Stanford University and UC Davis Physician’s Assistant – Family Nurse Practitioner program since 1984. He is teaching UCSC Health Career Major interns. In his personal life, Dr. Solinas resides in Santa Cruz with his wife of 29 years and has 3 children. He enjoys salsa dancing and handball.

Residing in Watsonville with her husband and three children, Ms. Guzman has been employed by Plazita Medical Clinic for over 10 years. Born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley, Ms. Guzman is committed to promoting good health care. In her spare time she enjoys reading and traveling.


Rosemarie Sandoval, FNP-C

Born in the picturesque St. Helena, California, and raised amidst the rolling hills of San Juan Bautista and Hollister, Rosemarie Sandoval, NP-C, began her inspiring journey in healthcare at just 17 years old. Starting as a medical assistant, she quickly discovered her passion for helping others, setting her on a path that would shape her life’s work.

At 20, Rosemarie enrolled in nursing school at Hartnell College, laying the foundation for her future career. Her ambition and dedication propelled her forward, leading her to Fresno State where she pursued her master’s degree. In 1990, she proudly earned her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), a significant achievement that marked the culmination of her academic pursuits.

Beyond her professional life, Rosemarie finds joy in the simple pleasures. A talented baker, she loves creating delicious goodies in her kitchen. Her love for animals is equally strong, and she enjoys the fulfilling experience of raising both cats and dogs. Her story is one of unwavering commitment, a lifelong passion for care, and a heartwarming appreciation for the small joys that make life sweet.


Franco Garcia, PA-C


Born in Los Angeles and raised in the Bay Area, His journey began in his twenties, where he dived headfirst into the medical field as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and then as a medical scribe. These formative years provided him with invaluable, hands-on experience and solidified his resolve to become a certified Physician Assistant.

Driven by his ambition, Franco attended Northern Arizona University from 2018 to 2020, where he earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Upon graduating in 2020, he chose to specialize in the intricate and vital field of wound care, showcasing his commitment to providing specialized and comprehensive treatment.

When he’s not busy at the clinic, he is an avid distance runner, he finds peace and challenge on the open road and rugged trails. His love for the outdoors extends to hiking, where he captures the beauty of nature through his lens as a keen photographer. Franco’s story is a compelling blend of professional excellence and a zest for life, and we are proud to have him now working with us at Plazita Medical Clinic.


Steven Rigor, PA-C


Steven Rigor is a dedicated Physician Assistant with a deep connection to the Watsonville community, where he was born and raised. He earned his degree from UCLA in 2000 and completed the majority of his medical training in the Los Angeles area. His extensive education includes residency training in both emergency medicine at Martin Luther King Hospital in Compton and cardiothoracic surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

With a diverse clinical background, Steven has practiced in a wide range of specialties, including orthopedics, orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, urgent care, and family medicine. This broad experience has given him a well-rounded and comprehensive approach to patient care.

Outside of the clinic, Steven is passionate about health and wellness. He enjoys running, cycling, and swimming, and he stays at the forefront of medical advancements by reading the latest research in health and longevity.


Oskar Lizarraga-Davis, PA-C


It’s with great excitement that we introduce the newest member of our team, Oskar Lizarraga-Davis, PA-C !

Oskar brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for patient care. He received his Physician Assistant Certificate from Stanford University School of Medicine, building on his Master’s degree in Medical Clinical Sciences from Saint Francis University and his Bachelor of Science from UC Davis.

With a strong background in providing quality care across several local hospitals, including Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital, Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas, and Soledad Community Health Care District, Oskar is a familiar and trusted face in our community. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he is committed to helping a diverse range of patients.

Oskar’s dedication to medicine goes beyond his impressive credentials; he genuinely loves what he does, and that passion translates into the exceptional, high-quality care he provides. We are thrilled to have him join our clinic and are confident that our patients will benefit from his expertise and compassionate approach.
